Description

Colt, Model 1911- U.S. Army, Cal. 45 ACP, Semi-Auto, Mfg. 1917, SN: 150745, 5'' barrel, WWI era pistol. This lot also includes a US marked holster. The pistol is Marked ''UNITED STATES PROPERTY'' on the left side of frame, ''MODEL OF 1911. U.S. ARMY'' on right side of slide. Two line patent dates & two line address, Rampant Colt on left slide near hammer, Has U.S. Army Inspection Stamp of Gilbert H. Stewart (1915-18). Original checkered wood grips are very good & solid, but well used. Metal blue finish is worn to 35% & replaced with a thin brown patina in areas of loss. The blue remaining in protected areas, along with the hammer, slide release, safety & trigger. Bore is very good, No markings on the two tone Lanyard Loop magazine.
