VERY RARE Savage powder can, No. 1, different style than the one we offered in the pervious auction, one pound red can with engravings of Savage 1899 Rifles on both sides of the front. A white paper label on the reverse side identifies the powder as ''No. 1, 1903'' and gives loading instructions for .303 and 30-30 caliber with various bullets, 6-1/4'' x 3-7/8' ' x 1-5/8'', Page 210 of ''Gun Powder Cans and Kegs, Vol. 2'', by Bacyk and Rowe, tin has age soiling but is still very solid with heavy age soiling to back paper label, it almost looks burnt. Grade: Very Good ++ - Value: 600 to 1500
