OUTSTANDING Winchester, Model 1873, DELUXE 3rd Model, .32 Cal., MFG. 1888 Antique, SN: 258260, Lever Action Rifle, 24 3/8'' Full Octagon barrel, Full mag. This extraordinary rifle has Special Order features documented by factory records. The XXX Deluxe checkered pistol grip wood stock & forend are excellent, solid & original. The finish appears original, but is a professional quality refinish which was required after a cracked toe repair was professionally completed. Very nicely done. The stocks have excellent checkering, with very few light handling marks & a tiny 1/4'' tight hairline crack at the tip of the upper tang. The pistol grip as the ebony inlay. Original blue on barrel is 50%, with the lower flats carrying nearly full blue while the upper flats are turning a plum/brown as it thins. The case-hardened receiver, lever, hammer & crescent buttplate all wonderful case-colors fading with a mix of brown patina. The third model receiver features an integral dust cover guide rail & a dust cover featuring serrated finger grip on the rear. The dust cover is tight & slides well, with blue remaining to match loading port. The top barrel flat is stamped with the two-line Winchester New Haven address/King's improvement patent dates legend ahead of the rear sight & ''32 WCF'' at the breech. The brass cartridge elevator is marked ''32 CAL.'' The lower tang has the serial number. Barrel address is strong. The left side of the lower tang is marked ''1814 XXX 32.'' The assembly number ''1814'' as well as the caliber designation ''32'' are repeated on the stock inlet. The buttplate is stamped with ''4546''. Bore is excellent, bright with strong lands & grooves. Barrel fitted with elevation adj. Buckhorn rear sight & Rocky Mountain front blade sight. Tight smooth lever & action. Plain trigger. Rifle comes with a Cody Winchester Factory records letter which correctly validates current configuration & features. The rifle was received in the warehouse on May 02, 1888, & shipped the next day. Striking eye appeal on this highly collectible, deluxe, Special Order 1873 rifle.* Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 12000 to 20000
