OUTSTANDING Winchester, Model 1876, DELUXE 2nd Model, .45-75 Cal.(unmarked), MFG. 1882 Antique, SN: 29773, Lever Action Rifle, 28'' Full Octagon barrel, Full mag. This wonderful rifle has Special Order features documented by factory records. The XXX Deluxe checkered pistol grip wood stock & forend are excellent, solid & original. The stocks have been nicely & professionally refinished, with excellent checkering & very few light handling marks & contusions. The pistol grip as the ebony inlay. The blued barrel carries 90% finish, 90% on mag tube toning slightly plum. The case-hardened receiver, lever, hammer & crescent trapdoor buttplate carry smokey outlines of faded case-colors with some colors appearing in protected areas. The 2nd model receiver features an integral dust cover guide rail & a late 2nd/3rd model dust cover featuring serrated finger grip on the rear edges. The dust cover is tight & slides well, with faint blue remaining to match blued loading port. The top barrel flat is stamped with the two-line Winchester New Haven address/King's improvement patent dates legend ahead of the rear sight. Barrel address is strong. Neither the barrel or the brass cartridge elevator carry a caliber mark. The lower tang has the horizontal block number stamped SN. The left side of the lower tang is marked ''XXX 1579 R'' The assembly number ''1579'' as well as the ''R'' are repeated on the stock inlet. The buttplate is stamped with ''1579''. Bore is very good, bright with strong lands & grooves, some light roughness. Barrel fitted with a 1876 marked ladder adj. rear sight & standard front sight. Tight smooth lever & action. Plain trigger. Rifle comes with a Cody Winchester Factory records look-up sheet which correctly validates current configuration & features. The rifle was received in the warehouse on December 05, 1882, & shipped four days later on the 09th.
