Full Nickeled Winchester, Model 1892, marked 38 WCF (38-40), MFG. 1893, SN: 16977, Lever Action Rifle, 24'' Octagon barrel, Full mag. Early 2nd year rifle. Wood is very good, with original finish & added oils. Stocks show a number of minor handling blemishes or contusions. The metal has a full coverage nickel which has dulled over the years. While the nickel finish could be original, there are places where the nickel appears to be over speckling or blemishes. The nickel has excellent coverage with small areas of flaking on the lever, buttplate, tangs, corners of receiver & barrel end, all areas you would expect from honest use. Bore is good, with roughness, but good rifling. Adjustable rear sight & a Marbles No. 2 white bead front sight, Crescent metal buttplate. Tight action. A sharp looking full nickel & early 1892 rifle. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 2000 to 4000
