Marlin, Model 1881 DELUXE, marked 32-40 Cal., MFG. 1888, SN: 20426, Lever Action Rifle, 22'' Octagon barrel, Full mag., The factory deluxe, ''A'' style checkered, ''S'' shaped pistol grip wood stocks are very good & solid. The original finish has worn & thinned at the carry points, with added oils for protection. The two stocks have a different color appearance as a result & there are numerous small scuffs, scratches & minor contusions. The original metal blue finish has worn mostly gun metal gray, but with spotty areas toning to a thin brown patina. The receiver retains spotty original blue & outlines of original finish. The stock carries the original crescent metal buttplate. The rifle fitted with a Lyman tang sight, while the barrel carries an original adjustable rear sight & standard front sight. Bore is very good, with strong rifling. Action remain smooth & tight. A very nice example of an antique deluxe Marlin. No FFL Req. - Value: 2000 to 4000
