Marlin, Model 1888, .38 WCF Cal., MFG. 1888, SN: 24476, Lever Action Rifle, 24'' Octagon barrel, Full mag., Last of the top ejecting Marlins. The straight grip wood stocks are replacements, which are very good & solid. The finish is very good & there are just a few small scuffs, scratches & minor contusions. The metal carries a combination of the original & an applied patina over scrubbed speckles & pitting. The metal has a mostly smooth gray appearance. The stock carries a black plastic buttplate. The barrel carries an original adjustable rear sight & a blade front sight. Bore is good, with roughness, yet strong rifling. Action remains tight. A rare rifle & one of only 4,800 produced. No FFL Req. - Value: 500 to 1000
