Savage, Model 99T LIGHTWEIGHT, marked .300 Savage Cal., MFG. 1940, SN: 389411, Lever Action Rifle, 22'' Round barrel, The model 99T was produced from 1935 to 40, with this example being a late production rifle. The factory checkered & capped pistol grip wood stocks are excellent & solid. The original finish is excellent, with some light scuffs, scratches or minor contusions. The original metal blue finish is 95% on barrel & 80% thinning & toning gray on the receiver, mainly on the belly, but less from wear & more likely from natural fading & age. The case-hardened lever displays excellent & vivid case-coloring. The stock carries the original Savage serrated metal buttplate. Fitted with a Lyman 30 1/2 elevation & windage adjustable tang peep sight & a factory white centerline adjustable buckhorn rear sight. The factory ramped front sight carries a red bead, which is correct to this model & the only model savage produced carrying this read bead sight. Bore is excellent. Action is smooth & tight. Stocks carry sling studs. An excellent & all original example. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 600 to 1200
