Savage, Model 1899, marked .303 Savage Cal., MFG. 1923, SN: 246245, Lever Action Takedown Rifle, 20'' Tapered round barrel, The factory straight grip wood stocks are very good & solid, after a light sanding & a non-professional added coat of finish. There are scuffs, scratches or minor contusions. The metal surfaces carry a splotchy blue & brown cold blue finish. The lever displays faint remains of case-coloring. The stock carries the original Savage serrated metal buttplate. Fitted with an adjustable rear & standard front sights. Bore is very good. Action is smooth & tight. Likely a good shooter.
