J. Stevens A & T Co Model 44 Single Shot, CAL: 32-40, MFG: 1894-1903, SN: 29382, Lever Action Falling Block Rifle, 26'' half octagon, half round barrel. The original straight grip wood stocks are very good, displaying original finish & added oils. Forend has a Schnabel tip & beavertail sides. There are two small hairline cracks emanating from the ends of the upper & lower tangs & other small nicks, dings & contusions. The metal finish is worn to a spotty gray & brown patina with some rust pitting on the barrel. Bore is excellent. The rifle carries a tang mounted flip-up vernier peep sight, with large aperture adjusting disc, a blank filled rear dovetail & folding globe front sight. Crescent metal buttplate. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 600 to 1200
