Ruger Model 10/22 Carbine, CAL: .22LR, MFG: 1967, SN: D101534, Semi Auto Carbine, 18 1/2'' round tapered barrel. This is a rare rifle based on the ''D'' in the SN. Known as ''D'' Series rifles, they came about because a run of guns ended up stamped with duplicate SN's. The solution was to stamp them with a letter code to differentiate them. The letter ''D'' prefix was chosen & rumor has it that the ''D'' was a joke at the plant & stood for ''Dumba**'' based on the dumb mistake that was made. These rifles are a oddity & collectible as such. The flat pistol grip carbine style stock is excellent with only a few small finish level scuffs & tiny contusions found in the original finish. The barrel retains 99% of the original blue & receiver is excellent with a few light surface blemishes. Bore is excellent & bright. Receiver fitted with scope blocks. Barrel has folding leaf rear & blade front sight. Smooth metal buttplate. Original mag. Excellent overall condition. Collectible in this condition & SN stamping. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 800 to 1500
