Winchester, Model 1890, 1st model, .22 Short Cal., MFG. 1891, SN:8958, Pump Action Rifle, 24 3/8'' Octagon barrel. This appears to be a rifle made up from parts. The Winchester wood stocks are good, with the stock appearing much darker than the forearm. The finishes appear original with heavy use. There is a small chip at the toe, with other contusions, handling marks & light scratches. The barrel & trigger guard are rust aged chocolate brown, with speckles & pitting. The loading tube is a newer replacement, with Magnum sized slot & 30% original blue finishes. The solid frame receiver is silver, with buff polished upper tang. Bore is poor & rough. Standard sights, with front sight being loose. Winchester crescent metal buttplate. Action is a bit rough & tight. Antique No FFL Req. - Value: 150 to 300
