RARE Winchester Model 68 ''YOUTH'', 22 SHORT- LONG AND LONG RIFLE, MFG:1943 , SN: NONE, Bolt Action Single Shot Rifle, 20'' round barrel. Normal model 68 rifles carried 27'' barrels & were made from 1934-46, but in 1943 Winchester assembled a limited number of rifles with 20'' barrel, giving it the ''Youth'' model designation. Although these special youth models were never offered, advertised or promoted, the limited number produced makes this example very desirable. The flat pistol grip wood stock is excellent with very few minor contusions. The finish appears original & is excellent. Factory metal blue finish is 80% toning a bit gray to plum. Trigger guard carries 40% of the original blue finish. Bore is excellent. Back of barrel is fitted with the original wheel adjusting aperture sight & a ramp style front sight with hood. Winchester black checkered buttplate. Nickel tone bolt handle. A very rare youth model & very collectible. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 650 to 2000
