RARE O.F. Mossberg & Sons, Model 42MB, .22 S. L. & LR Cal., MFG. 1942, SN: 24646, Bolt Action Rifle, 23'' Round barrel, Box Mag fed. Military training rifle version of the 42M. Approximately 50,000 made for U.S. & British troops. This is a Lend-lease model with British proofs & ''U.S. PROPERTY'' stamped on barrel. Premiums paid for this variation. The original full length military style wood stock is very good & solid, carrying much of the original finish. However someone has carved ''To crazy Red from 555- the triple nuts'' on the right side of stock. There stock carries scratches, scrapes & small contusions. Metal blue finish is 75%, with some light speckles & spotty areas of loss. Original sights have been replaced with a Kmart All Pro 4x15 scope. Original mag. Original sling swivels are missing having been replaced with an additional barrel band swivel & newer swivel in second hole in stock. Bore is excellent, Original buttplate.
