The Hamilton Rifle Co. Model 15, 22 SHORT, MFG: 1902-10 SN: NONE, Under Lever Single Shot Rifle, 8'' round barrel. 27 1/2'' OAL. The original wood stock is very good & solid, as lightly sanded & refinished. It has a repaired 1 1/2'' grain crack at the toe, with light scratches & contusions. The metal blue finish is mostly worn from the front half of the barrel, retaining 20% black, with the rest toning to a brown patina. The back half of the barrel & receiver carry an even brown patina. The company markings & patents are stamped on left side of receiver. Steel rolled barrel, with original brass liner. The 12 groove bore with 1 turn in 16'', r.h. twist, is poor with smoothed rifling, but clean. Barrel fitted with blade front sight & stamped sheet metal adjustable rear peep sight. Lever retains a majority of the nickel finish. Original thin metal buttplate. Just under 235,000 produced. Another rare example in worn, but mostly original condition.
