The Hamilton Rifle Co. Model 23, 22 CAL S & L, MFG:1905-09, SN: NONE, Bolt Action Rifle, 15'' round tapered barrel, 34 1/2'' OAL. The model 23 was the first bolt action Hamilton produced. The straight grip walnut stock is very good, but with a 1/4'' missing chip at the toe. The stock carries the original finish, with added oils & a number of small cuffs & contusions. Original metal blue finish has 50% coverage, with the balance aged to a brown patina. The steel rolled barrel carries the original brass liner, which has a good bore. 12 groove bore with 1 turn in 16''. Factory metal buttplate. Original front & receiver peep sights. Correct swivel screw ahead of ''S'' shaped trigger guard. External manual cocking handle. One of the rarest models with less than 26,000 produced. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 200 to 600
