Colt, 1878 ''Hammer Double'' CAL: 10GA, MFG: Antique, SN: 7872, Break Action SxS Shotgun, Choke: F/F, 30'' Damascus barrels. The gun has undergone a refinish. The checkered, round pistol grip stock is good. There is a repaired crack at the wrist & numerous small contusions, nicks & scratches. There is an added layer of finish over the well worn checkering. The forend is a non-checkered replacement. The damascus barrels have been cleaned & restored, now displaying the clear & bold fingerprint pattern. The case-hardened & accent engraved receiver has cold blue over normal wear & light pitting. Bores are very good. The solid, matted rib holds a single front bead. Buttstock carries a factory Colt buttplate. LOP: 14 3/4'', DAH: 2 7/8'', DAC: 2 1/8''. A fairly rare double shotgun, with only 22,683 produced. Antique, NO FFL Req - Value: 500 to 1500
