RARE FN/Browning Model A-5, CAL: 16 GA, MFG: 1923, SN: 27522, Semi-Auto Shotgun, Choke: F, 27 1/2'' barrel. A very early production A-5, with the barrel marking of ''BROWNING BROTHERS COMPANY OGDEN UTAH''. Antony Vanderlinden's A-5 shotgun book discusses these early Browning Brother guns. The checkered & rare early straight grip wood stocks are very good, with numerous tiny contusions, scratches & surface scrapes. The stocks carry the original finish & added oils which have darkened the appearances. The metal blue finish rates 60% on the barrel & receiver, with loss mainly at the carry points. Early style straight trigger. Early front trigger guard safety. Bore is very good. The barrel is fitted with a front bead on a ramp. Buttstock carries an original FN buttplate & factory sling swivel, with second swivel on forend cap. Rare early FN A-5. LOP: 14 1/4''. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 600 to 1200
