Hyde Shattuck & Co Model American, CAL: 12 GA, MFG: 1876, SN: 398, Trigger Break Action Shotgun, Choke: F, 30 1/4'' barrel. The straight grip wood stock is good, as sanded & refinished long ago. The stock has wonderful age & patina. It also carries an ivory inlay with the name ''DR. BROWN'' inscribed on it & a silver heart on the other side. There are several small contusions & surface scrapes. The Damascus steel barrel is a gun metal gray, with areas of brown patina. The receiver is also gun metal gray, but with shadow outlines & remnants of case-coloring. Bore is good, dark with roughness. The barrel holds a single front bead. Buttstock carries a smooth metal buttplate. LOP: 13 7/8''. Antique, NO FFL Req - Value: 300 to 600
