Japanese Matchlock. CAL: N/A, MFG: Antique 1600's - 1800's, SN: None, Percussion Rifle. Stock is in good condition w/ a few light scratches & dings with a clear lacquer over whole stock. Brass parts trigger guard, trigger, bands, end of buttstock & inlay throughout. Barrel is rust patina throughout with some pitting along most of surface. The spring, hammer, percussion striker are iron w/rust patina, however, are fully functioning. Rear sight is heavy iron 7/8 decorative base with groove to sight down, brown rust patina as well. Front sight is small 1/8 iron blade. Bore is rust coated and shows no rifling. Appears to have been converted from matchlock to percussion approximately 1840s. Wood ramrod looks to be modern dowel replacement. Muzzle-loading Matchlock converted to percussion An unusual, functional gun with a lot of history to research. NO FFL Req - Value: 400 to 1500
