H E Leman Model ''Kentucky Style'', CAL: .45 Black Powder, MFG: 1830's, SN: NONE, Percussion Muzzleloader, 42 1/2'' heavy octagon barrel. The straight grip wood stock appears to have been re-finished at least once in its lifetime, still has some dents/gouges/scratches throughout. The front 7'' of the stock have been replaced/glued in place. There is some dark staining in places. The barrel is in the white and has a varnish coating over all, with some very light rusting beneath. Barrel is fitted with factory fixed buckhorn rear & fine silver blade front sights. Rifle was made by H.E. LEMAN of LANCASTER, PA., as is marked on the lock plate. Double set triggers. Wood ramrod with brass tip. Smooth crescent brass buttplate & patch box appear to be original & missing 1 1/2'' brass piece on bottom heal, Bore is dark yet retains some crisp rifling, HENRY E LEMAN worked in Lancaster from 1812 until 1887.
