U.S. Springfield Model 1824 Shotgun Conversion, CAL: 12GA, MFG: 1822-1830, SN: None, Muzzle loading shotgun, 34 1/2'' round barrel. The one-piece walnut stock has been cut down, sanded & refinished. There are two cartouches still visible on the left side of stock just above trigger. The barrel has been cleaned & buffed, there is stampings on top of barrel ''L 2 O - S. CAROLINA - P - Eagle head & V'' . Side lock stamped w/ winged eagle, over ''U.S. & SPRINGFIELD 1824 '' stampings. Buttplate with ''U S'' stamped at top. Trigger guard appears to have been polished also. No rear sight & simple front bead sight. Front barrel band is cast replacement. Bore has little shine with light rust overall. Hammer spring action strong & mechanically sound. A pieced together muzzle loading percussion shotgun most likely used to feed & defend the homestead. NO FFL Req - Value: 200 to 400
