U.S. Springfield Model 1864, CAL: 69, MFG: 1860's, SN: None, Muzzle loading rifle, 39'' round barrel. The walnut stock has been sanded & refinished a long time ago, with multiple scratches, scrapes & contusions throughout, one large 1'' chip. There are no cartouche visible on the left side of stock just above trigger. The barrel is an even dark brown/grey patina, with some darker patches around the muzzle & some pitting along wood/metal edges. Eagle head, P & V stamped on barrel. Eagle & ''U.S. Springfield & 1864'' stamped on right lockplate. Heavily rusted/pitted buttplate with ''U.S'' stamped at top. Trigger guard, three barrel bands, nose cap & ramrod are steel with a brown/grey patina. The rear sight has flip up elevator with two apertures. The front sight is a small blade on steel base. Smooth bore has rust coating over all areas. Hammer & spring action are all strong & mechanically sound. Comes with socket bayonet with brown patina, with a few small rust patches.
