Swedish Remington Rolling Block Model 1874, CAL:12.7X44R MFG: 1874-1879, S/N: 16060, 37 1/2'' round barrel. Two piece straight grip light colored wood stock with model 1874 stamped in buttstock & forestock. Condition very good with only few light scratches/dings overall. Left side of buttstock has inletted brass disk with ''1 TB. - B. - No 485'' stamped. Right side of both buttstock & forestock have matching serial numbers stamped. Steel nose cap. The barrel shows dark brown/ greying patina throughout with a lot of light scratches through finish from the 1st barrel band to the muzzle. Barrel stamped on top just ahead of receiver with ''OK - Crown over C NL'' on the left side with matching serial number & right side has ''H.H. JD''. The case-hardened receiver ,trigger guard/tangs & 3 barrel bands are in good condition with case colors visible. Left side of receiver has matching serial number &'' H.H P.S'' . Upper tang does not have Remington stamps. Rifle is mounted with military style rear sight that is a combination sliding elevator/ladder sight. With the ladder folded down, the rear sight is a ''V'' notch at the front of the ladder. The right side of the ladder is marked in ovals '' 8, 10, 12, 14 '' then below those marks are: ''120, 180, 240, 300''. 1 to 4 '' for use with the slider as an elevator. When the ladder is raised, there is smaller ''V'' notch on the top edge of the slider. The ladder is marked from ''4'' to 7'' for use with the slider. The front sight is a small blade in a block mounted on the barrel. Bore is very good, shiny with sharp rifling. Buttplate appears original steel in good condition , serial number matching rest of rifle, has some dings and fading blue on top and bottom. Original sling swivels mounted on the trigger guard & middle barrel band. Retains original cleaning rod . Action is tight & mechanically sound- Very nice all matching Rolling Block variation.
