Argentine Mauser Model Modelo Argentino 1909 Calvary Carbine, CAL: 7.65 X 53, MFG:1909- 1959, SN: A7534. German made bolt action, 21 1/2'' barrel. Two piece original Mannlicher-style walnut stocks w/ original oil finish. Straight grip stock with only a few light scratches/dings throughout both lower & upper handguard, non -matching serial number stamped. Military style in the white metal butt plate with some rust present. Barrel retaining about 60% bluing with some deeper rubbing wear on the exposed portion above handguard. Receiver & bolt are in the white in very good condition, crisp stampings Receiver ring marked with Argentine crest, left side of receiver stamped ''MAUSER MODELO ARGENTINO 1909, DEUTSCHE WAFFEN - UND MUNITIONSFABRIKEN BERLIN''. Serial number stamped on right side of receiver. Rear sight is tangent adjustable in elevation with graduating marks from 200 to 1400 meters. Front sight is windage adjustable blade with nose cap that has built in protective ears. Bore retains some shine with distinctive rifling showing. The nose cap extends beyond muzzle enough to accept the ring of the 1891 bayonet, the lug which is mounted on the bottom of the forearm about 3 '' from the muzzle. Mechanical function is good. Matching serial numbers on receiver, magazine floorplate only, bolt non matching. No import stamps on rifle. Comes with very good condition bayonet/frog. A handy, well - made weapon.
