French MAS Model 1936/CR39, CAL: 7.5 X 54, MFG: 1948-1951, SN: 47539, Bolt Action Rifle, 18'' round barrel. This rifle carries parts with different SN's. The gun was likely assembled from parts possibly at their armory. The folding rear stock is aluminum with the correct ''F'' series SN of F28198 stamped near release lever. Non-checkered fore stock is very good. The metal blue finish is 65% barrel & 75% on receiver, with some minor surface rust. Rifle is fitted with adjustable ladder rear sight w/ increments from 2 to 12, Front blade sight, with protective hood. Bore is good, with some darkening & well defined rifling. Original retractable sling in stock. This rifle presents as a rare folding stock version of the French MAS 36, that was designed for paratroops & mountain troops. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 500 to 1500
