Italian Terni Carcano, Model 1938 Short Rifle, CAL: 7.9 Mauser MFG: 1941, SN: 7721, Bolt Action Rifle, 18'' round barrel. Non-checkered straight grip stock with lots of dings from use & with matching serial number stamped at base of buttstock. The metal blue finish is 35% barrel, & 30% on receiver with surface rust overall. Buttplate is steel military The rifle is fitted with a fixed rear 200 yard sight, front sight is ''V'' blade. Bore is very good shiny with well defined rifling. This appears to be the post WWII Conversion to the 7.9 Mauser containing the large ''S'' stamp on receiver crown, 7.9 stamped on rear sight, & no HK or German marks noted.
