Japanese Military Arisaka Model Type 99, CAL: 7.7mm, MFG: 1939 -1945 by Nagoyo Arsenal, SN: 36617, Japanese made bolt action rifle. 26'' barrel. Stock is two piece Japanese walnut that has been sanded & very well done refinished with a reddish color stain. Its in excellent condition, with a few light scratches & dings. Wood to metal fit is very good. Mum has been ground off of receiver ring. Type 99 is stamped in on receiver ring under the mum stamp location. SN & arsenal stamps on left side of receiver. Barrel & other metal parts all show normal wear, with some rust speckling throughout 50% bluing remaining. Rear sight is graduated out to 1500 meters & original front sight. Bore is good, with visible rifling. Original front sling swivel, rear swivel missing. Buttstock carries original military buttplate. Action fully functional & very tight. Overall condition is very good with all parts original & complete. Japanese Arisaka are one of the strongest military bolt actions ever made & make great deer hunting rifles.
