Japanese Military Arisaka, Prototype or Training Rifle Type 99 CAL: 7.7mm, MFG: 1938 - 1945, SN:3, Japanese made bolt action rifle, 30'' barrel. Stock is one piece Japanese Oak that has been sanded & refinished, in good condition, with a few light scratches & dings. Wood to metal fit very is fair. No Mum on receiver ring or any other markings on rifle anywhere other than ''3'' on left side of receiver & bolt handle. Barrel & other metal parts all appear to be cast and in the white. Rear sight is graduated out to 1700 meters & inverted ''V'' blade front sight without protective ears. NO rifling in bore. There are only sling swivel mounts no attachment for sling. Buttstock not present only bare wood. A very unusual perhaps collectable as very few exist also low serial number/prototype number Arisaka. Action is very sloppy yet seems to function & firing pin snaps forward when trigger pulled. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 100 to 500
