Nambu Type 14, CAL: 7.87mm, MFG: 1911, SN: 62884, Semi-Auto Pistol, 4 3/4'' barrel. The Nambu pistols were a series of semi-automatic pistols produced by the Japanese company Koishikawa Arsenal, later known as the Tokyo Artillery Arsenal. The series had five variants, the Type A Model 1902 (also called the Grandpa Nambu), the Type A Model 1902 Modified (also known as the Papa Nambu), the Type B (also known as the Baby Nambu), the Type 14 & the Type 94. The Nambu pistols were designed to replace Japan's earlier service pistol, the Type 26 Revolver. The pistols were designed by Kijiro Nambu & saw extensive service in the Empire of Japan during the Second Sino-Japanese War & Pacific War. The most common variant, was this Type 14, was used mostly by officers, who had to pay for their pistols themselves. The wood grips on this pistol are very good, with minor surface scrapes, nicks & dings. The metal blue finish rates 90% overall with the frame toning to a plum brown patina. Bore is very good. Factory sights. Comes with extra mag. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 500 to 1000
