Simeons North, Antique flintlock pistol, Cal. 54, MFG 1816, SN: none, 9'' Round barrel, This is an early example of a Model 1816 pistol manufactured by Simeon North of Middletown, Connecticut, between 1817 and 1820. The lock plate is marked ''S. NORTH/U[eagle shield]S/MIDLN CON.'' The breech end of the barrel is stamped with ''P/US'' on the left side, a deep condemnation mark on top ( a good sign of original flintlock configuration!), A blade front sight is fitted to the front section of the barrel band. The left stock flat has an ''LS'' cartouche, and a ''3'' is stamped on the right above the pommel. (most of this is hard to read). Steel grip cap Metal trigger guard, Nice antique patina, wood grip stock has dings & scratches. Wood ramrod. Appears to function correctly. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 500 to 2000
