Japanese Wakizashi, original length blade, no signature on tang, late Edo period made blade. Blade measures 17 5/8'' cutting edge, 1 1/16 '' width, 6.5mm thickness at the mune notch, Old bright polish with some light rust patches, no delamination's, some light surface scratches. No polishers marks on mune at kissaki or under habaki. Very nice grain through-out blade that appears to be a blend Itame (wood grain) & Matsukawa (pine tree bark) wavy temper Bizen style choji midare that goes into kissaki. Chip in tip of kissaki about 1/8'' & Blister about 7'' from tip of blade. One punched hole in nakago (tang). Ribbed, red/black lacquered saya. Silver foil over copper habaki in good condition with some tarnishing at the base. Two copper seppa. Pierced iron tsuba. Tsuka has older blue wrap with matching fuchi kashira & dragon menuki. Old same that is missing some nodes. Nice complete blade/koshirae combination. - Value: 400 to 2000
