Japanese tanto, original length blade, tang has been sanded/cleaned removing any signature, Shinto period blade. Blade measures 10 9/16'' cutting edge, 1 '' width, 6.mm thickness at the mune notch, In decent polish with multiple kizu in surface steel on one side of blade 1 1/4'' & 1 3/4'' & 4'' from mune machi.. No polishers marks on mune at kissaki or under habaki. Nice grain through-out blade Masame Hada (lined or layered ) Ko-midare temper up into kissaki. One punched hole in nakago. Red/black lacquered saya with multiple crude repairs. Kodzuka with signature that has been cleaned & possibly reproduction piece. Newer & polished copper habaki in good condition with some tarnishing. Two reproduction copper seppa that have been glued to tsuba. Nice old fine-pierced iron tsuba. Tsuka has older leather wrap with matching fuchi kashira & animal menuki. Old same in decent condition. Complete blade/koshirae/Kodzuka combination some wear & cleaning damage & replacement parts - Value: 300 to 1600
