Winchester Model 1873, 38 CAL, MFG: 1884, SN: 95719, Lever Action Rifle, 26'' Octagon barrel, Full mag. The straight grip wood stocks are excellent, as lightly sanded & refinished, with a several small surface scrapes, nicks & contusions. The corners of the wrist at the receiver have small chip repairs & the vacated sling stud hole has also been filled. The restored metal blue finish on the barrel rates 80%, 60% on mag, with edge wear & areas of loss toning to a brown patina. The case-hardened receiver, lever & hammer display fabulous & vivid restored case-coloring. Caliber marked on the brass block & barrel. Bore is very good, with strong rifling, but with some roughness. Rifle carries a very rare height adjusting lollipop tang sight, blank filled rear dovetail & folding front globe sight. Buttstock carries a smooth metal shotgun buttplate. Plain trigger. Comes with Cody Winchester factory letter confirming configuration & dates.
