Winchester Model 87 (1885) Third Variation Winder Musket Low Wall, CAL: 22 LONG R., MFG: 1918, SN: 123403, Single Shot Lever Action Rifle, 28'' barrel. The model 87 is the third variation of the 1885 Winder Musket low-wall. Most examples are martial marked, this one is not. The straight grip wood stocks are very good, as lightly sanded & refinished. They display only a few nicks & dings, with a 2'' hairline crack at the lower tang. The stock appears to have been cut down approximately 1'', but the metal carbine buttplate still fits well. The metal blue finish on the barrel & receiver rates 70%, with areas of rust, spotting & blemishes. Bore is very good, shows wear from use & age. The receiver carries a Lyman no. 53 receiver peep sight, that's missing the adjustable eye piece, a blade front sight & a unmarked scope held by a Ward's Model 20 mount. Sling swivels. FFL or C&R REQ - Value: 400 to 800
