FABULOUS & RARE Winchester 1894, 2-BARREL SET, Extra Light, Deluxe, Take-down. Cal. 30 W.C.F. & 38-55. MFG: 1899 SN 70593. Lever Action Rifle. 26'' Extra light round barrels. Half Mags. Extremely rare 2-barrel set & currently mounted with the original 30 W.C.F. barrel. Accompanied by a Cody Firearms Museum Look-up sheet which confirms the correct configuration. This custom ordered rifle is fitted with factory deluxe checkered & capped pistol grip select grade American walnut stocks. They display wonderful grain. The stocks still carry nearly all of the original hand oiled finish, with very few handling marks on any of the pieces. The original metal blue finish rates 90% on both sets of barrels & mags, 55% on the receiver with natural thinning & flaking from use. The case-hardened lever & hammer still display strong case-colors. The shotgun stock is fitted with the original widow's peak buttplate. Both barrels fitted with adjustable low buck horn style rear sights & raised sporting gold bead front sights. Bores are both very good. According to the records sheet, the SN was applied on Oct. 13, 1899. The rifle was received in warehouse May 22, 1900 & was originally shipped May 23, 1900. The rifle was returned twice shortly there after on Oct, 22, 1900 & Dec. 08, 1904, when it was likely the 2nd matching & identically configured 38-55 cal. barrel in the set was added. These matching 2 barrel sets are very uncommon, but identically setup sets with records that would indicate it was likely a factory assembled set, makes it extremely rare & highly collectible.
