Marlin, Model 1893, 38-55 Cal. MFG. 1913, SN: 437783, Lever Action Rifle, 26'' Octagon barrel is marked ''Special Smokeless Steel'', Full mag. The original wood stocks are good & solid, but with most of the original finish having worn away leaving the darkened stained appearance with added oils. The wood has several small dings & minor contusions. The original metal blue finish is worn mostly silver on all parts with some areas of spotty brown patina remaining. Some additional hand applied patina also found on barrel. Metal surfaces also have small areas of rust speckling. Mounted with an adjustable buckhorn rear sight & a front blade sight. Bore is very good & bright. Action is sticky & hammer does not remain cocked after levering. Action is in need of cleaning within the receiver at the very least, with possible broken parts also a possibility. This old lever has seen some adventures & hunting trips, but remains mostly original & could make for a nice rifle after some work. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 300 to 600
