RARE Browning Belgium Superlight (Superposed) Pigeon Grade, CAL: 12GA, MFG: 1972, SN: 14155 S, Break Action O/U Shotgun, Screw-in Chokes, 26 3/8'' barrels, with a ventilated, matted rib. The Browning Superposed shotgun has had a long & successful run, with production starting in 1931 & running through to today in the custom shop. In 1967-77 Browning produced just 4,606 Superlight guns. Of those just 214 were ''Graded'' models & even few of course were ''Pigeon'' grades with just 88 produced. Thus this example of a Pigeon Superlight is a very rare variation of the Superposed guns. This shotgun has had some professional restoration work. The receiver exhibits a very intricate floral/ornamental style engraving with a pair of flying pigeons on each side of the receiver, while the trigger guard, break lever & forearm release lever all display similar accent engraving. The satin silver receiver has been very nicely polished with a few minor areas of thinning to the engraving. The original Superlight style Schnabel tipped & straight grip checkered wood stocks are excellent, displaying a few very light surface blemishes. The restored metal blue finish on the barrels rates 98%. Bores are excellent. The ventilated, matted rib holds a single front bead. Buttstock carries a finely leather wrapped recoil pad. The shotgun comes with (5) Briley Choke Tubes. 14 3/8'' LOP. A very nice appearance to this rare Belgium Pigeon grade SuperLight. FFL Req. - Value: 2000 to 4000
