Belgian Flobert Model 8mm Parlor Rifle . CAL: 8mm, MFG: 1870's-80's, SN: None , breech loading single shot rifle, 24'' heavy octagon barrel. Stock is nicely grained light walnut in fair condition with some dings/ scratches & initials ''CWL'' carved into the right side above triggerguard and on the bottom of the forearm. . Metal fit is very good. Markings on top of barrel ahead of receiver: '' BELGIUM'' then on side of receiver under the action '' FL. 8M 1'' along with some proof marks Barrel & other metal parts show dark brown rust patina no blue remains. Trigger guard is ornate steel also in dark rust patina. Rear sight is fixed V notch. Front sight is small blade dovetailed into barrel. Bore is dark with pitting and very little rifling remaining from use of black powder. Hard plastic lightly checkered buttpad with bottom 1'' chunk missing. No sling swivels or studs at forearm or buttstock, There is a hole in buttstock where sling stud may have been. The action on the rifle is known as the Warnant system. It was developed in Belgium around the late 19th Century. All are found chambered for low pressure rim fire Flobert cartridges. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 150 to 600
