Martini Henry Model IV-1, CAL: 577 X 450, MFG: 1871-88, SN: 8277, breech loading single shot lever action. 33 1/4 '' round barrel. Marked on barrel just ahead of receiver with numerous proof marks. Straight grain oil finished walnut in good condition, scattered scratches/dings/gouges. Straight grip stocks that have multiple stamps & numbers in buttstock. Rear sight has ladder adjustable V notches w/ 100, 200, 300, 400 stamped on right side of base & increments from 6 to 12 on ladder face. Front sight is a small blade on fixed base. The barrel & other metal surfaces are in fair condition retaining 35% of the original blue on the barrel & receiver. Trigger guard, barrel bands & standard steel buttplate display less bluing from wear, all metal parts have dark rust staining overall. Cleaning rod appears original. Bore is darkening with very sharp & visible rifling present. Bayonet lug on right side of barrel with triangular socket bayonet marked w/ R WD E 27 6/83 in original leather/brass scabbard that is in good condition. Leather sling in original sling swivels on trigger guard & front barrel band. Action appears functional & sound. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 800 to 1200
