European Remington Rolling Block clone? Model 1874, CAL:12.7X44R MFG: 1874-79, S/N: None, 37'' round barrel. One piece straight grip l dark wood stock with model company & rack numbers stamped in buttstock Condition is fair with scratches/dings/contusions overall. Steel nose cap. The barrel shows dark brown/ greying patina throughout with a lot of light scratches. The case-hardened receiver shows no case hardening & is dark brown rust over most ,trigger guard/tangs & 3 barrel bands are dark brown rust patina as well. . Left side of receiver has a crown over ''M.O'' over ''1874'' . Upper tang does not have Remington stamps. Rifle is mounted with military style rear sight that is a combination sliding elevator/ladder sight. With the ladder folded down, the rear sight is a ''V'' notch at the front of the ladder. The right side of the ladder is marked most of the numbers are not legible, there is smaller ''V'' notch on the top edge of the slider. The ladder is marked from ''4'' to 8'' for use with the slider. The front sight is a small blade in a block mounted on the barrel. Bore is poor with a lot of pitting & darkening, some rifling still visible. Buttplate appears original steel covered with dark rust, no visible markings. Original sling swivel mounted on the middle barrel band, missing sling swivel on buttstock. Retains original cleaning rod . Action is tight & mechanically sound- Appears to be European Remington rolling block clone. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 200 to 800
