Yugoslavian Mauser Model 98, CAL: 8X57 mm, MFG: 1940's SN: E3817, bolt action rifle. 24: barrel. Two piece laminated stocks w/ original oil finish. Pistol grip stocks that have a few light scratches/dings throughout both, buttstock has steel bolt disassembly washer inset, has been sanded to remove finish. Matching serial number stamped near buttplate in stock. Military style metal butt plate with some rust present. Barrel retaining about 40% bluing with brown/grey patina on the exposed portion above handguard & ahead of rear sight. Receiver showing 40% bluing w/ some light rust speckling. Receiver ring marked with Yugoslavian crest, serial #, proof stamps, on left side of receiver is: Factory 44 Mod 98. Rear sight is front of base pivoting leaf - adjustable in elevation with graduating marks from 1 to 20. Front sight is windage adjustable ''V'' blade with metal globe protective shroud. Bore is clear with sharp defined rifling. Mechanical function is good. No matching serial numbers. Very nice 8mm great shooter. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 500 to 1000
