French St. Etienne Model: 1866 Chassepot CAL: 11X59, MFG: 1873, SN: P75640, Bolt Action Rifle, 32'' round barrel. Non-checkered pistol grip stock is in very good condition w/ some minor dings, scratches from use/storage over the years, contains matching serial number on buttstock.. Metal parts appear to have been in the white & are greying with rust speckling throughout. Rifle is fitted with adjustable ladder rear sight w/ increments from 5 to 16. The front sight is small fixed blade on metal block. Bore is excellent with well defined rifling. Original sling swivels on buttstock & barrel band. Original cleaning rod. Matching serial numbers throughout. Plain metal buttplate with light rust staining. Comes with original brass handled bayonet. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 500 to 1500
