I.C. Orman Chatellerault Berthier Model 1907/15, CAL: 8x50R Lebel, MFG:1907-15 then converted in 1948, SN: 4800, Bolt Action Rifle, 21 1/2'' barrel. The straight grip wood stock is good, it displays numerous contusions, scrapes, scratches, nicks & dings. The metal finish rates 40% overall & has partially worn to a plum patina on areas of the receiver & bolt. Bore is fair, dark & worn from age & use with intermittent spotting. The rifle comes fitted with a rear ladder sight & original front sight. Buttstock carries a smooth metal buttplate. Sling swivels. Mixed SN's. A solid, but well used example of an earlier French rifle that was converted to a Turkish Forestry Service carbine, 8000 were produced in 1948. Marked #73129 on bolt.
