Czechoslovakian Model: VZ52, CAL: 7.62 X 45 mm MFG: 1952-57. SN: DO7731, Magazine fed semi-auto. 20 1/2'' barrel. Stock is original, in rough condition with age/oil darkening, gouges scratches, cracks & dings throughout, top handgaurd missing. Receiver/barrel assembly is loose in stock. Stamped on left side of receiver w/ '' SHE 58, serial # under Barrel, trigger guard & receiver bluing are about 40%, other metal parts are 15 %. Mounted with adjustable rear sight, with graduation marks from 1 to 9. Front sight is original dovetailed blade. Bore is in poor condition, dark, pitted, little visible rifling. Original folding bayonet fitted to this rifle. Front and rear sling mounts are present . Well-worn Military style steel buttplate, missing trapdoor cover.. Action appears functional. This VZ52 is a rare Czech made rifle that is also known as the M52. This rifle is one of the most rare and collectable battle rifles in the modern era. It fires the 7.62x45 round that sits directly between the 7.62x39 cartridge and the 7.62x51 Nato. It has a piston-driven gas system & the tilting bolt locking mechanism.
