CASED, Smith & Wesson New Model No. 3 ''Frontier'', CAL: 44-40, MFG: 1891, SN: 445, Single Action Top Break Revolver, 6 1/2'' barrel. This revolver was (1 of 1,286) shipped to Hartley & Graham Company, New York City, NY in 1891. Found at a gun shop on the Oregon coast in 1938, it was eventually rebuilt & refurbished in 1948 by a Denver gunsmithing school. The S&W logo, checkered, black hard rubber grips are excellent with light wear. The refurbished metal blue finish rates 99% overall & the hammer displays vivid case-colors. Bore is very good with light spotting near the muzzle. Factory sights. The top break, action & cylinder timing all function correctly. Comes displayed nicely in what appears to be a mahogany wood case, accompanied by a leather ammo belt & a box of Winchester 44 WCF. Box, belt & ammo all in excellent condition. A very nice example of a fully refurbished S&W revolver, with bonus items. Trousdale Collection.* Antique, NO FFL Req. - Value: 1000 to 2000
