COLT MODEL 1902 MILITARY MODEL SEMI-AUTO PISTOL. SN 40084. Cal. 38 Rimless, MFG: 1918, 6" bbl., Marked ''AUTOMATIC COLT'' & ''CALIBER 38 RIMLESS SMOKELESS''. Square butt. The reproduction, ''Colt'' embossed, checkered plastic grips with Rampant Colt are excellent. The high polished, refinished metal blue finish is 99%, with some pitting & speckling under blue. The barrel legend & stampings have been buffed thin in preparation of blue. Bore is excellent, Standard original fixed sights. Spur hammer. Pistol has a slide lock, but no safety. Mounted with a lanyard swivel in the left heel. Accompanied by a ''MIL COLT 38 CAL.'' marked magazine. The Model 1902 Military pistol was an important evolutionary step in the development of Colts semi-automatic pistol line. It became one of Colts early best selling pistols with a production run of over 27 years. Even then, only about 18,000 of these fine pistols were produced in the period 1902-29.
