FANTASTIC & RARE Smith & Wesson, Model 320 Revolving Rifle, 32 CAL., MFG: 1880, (1 of 977), Originally shipped to M.W. Robinson Company, New York City, in 1880. Was later sold by Warshall's Sporting Goods Store of Seattle, Washington shortly after WWII. It was returned to the S&W factory in 1956 for full restoration at the request of Everett, Washington gunsmith & noted S & W collector J. ''Ted'' Blacksten. Originally manufactured from 1879 to 1887, the Model 320 revolving rifle is one of the rarest Smith & Wesson firearms produced, with a total production of 977. These firearms were serialized from 1 to 977, The Model 320 was manufactured in three barrel lengths of 16'', 18'' & 20''. This example has a 18'' barrel. Has two-line address/patent dates rib marking. Matching SN 229 are on the butt, cylinder, barrel & barrel latch. Factory restored blue is excellent, but with some mild haze or spotting. Case-hardened trigger & hammer display mutted case-colors. The checkered forearm & grips are of a two tone molted hard rubber & are in excellent condition. The walnut stock features blued attaching hardware & rubber S&W buttplate. Bore is excellent. Comes stored in a custom canvas & leather accented presentation case, with two ammunition blocks, two leather case straps & 6 live rounds. Truly the Holy Grail for a S & W collector!
