Winchester Model 1885, CAL: marked 22 WCF, MFG: 1887, SN: 8796, Lever Action Falling Block Single Shot Rifle, 26'' #2 octagon barrel (barrel is stamped #2 in two places.
Forend is stamped #3. The straight grip wood stock & inlayed ebony tip forearm are very good, as lightly sanded in areas & added layer of oils or finish. They display contusions, surface scrapes, nicks & dings. The metal finish has about 85% coverage of a plum patina, with blue remaining on the lever & hammer. Bore is fair, dark & worn with consistent rust spotting & pitting throughout. The barrel holds a period adjustable rear & blade front sight. Buttstock carries a smooth, crescent metal buttplate. The lever pin has been replaced. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 600 to 1200
