J. Stevens A&T Co. Model 44, CAL: marked 25-25, MFG: 1912-32, SN: 27470, Lever Action Falling Block Single Shot Rifle, 28'' Octagon to round barrel. The straight grip wood stocks are good, but dark from oils & displaying numerous minor nicks & dings. The forend has a 5'' sliver missing on the right side upper edge. The metal blue finish rates 70% on the barrel with areas worn to metal grey & small areas of rust spotting. The case-hardened receiver has only shadows of case-colors with a thin brown patina. The possibly replaced falling block & hammer are blued. Bore is good with proud rifling & intermittent spotting. The barrel holds a flip-up rear sight & globe front sight. Buttstock carries a smooth, crescent metal buttplate. It is rare to see this rifle stamped 25-25. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 250 to 500
